| Euro-Shelter, leading supplier of mobile technical shelters, has 25 years' experience of building and supplying the most varied and advanced products.
A new name with 25 years' expertise in design, research and manufacturing of a wide range of tactical and communication shelters, mobile health and logistical systems, Euro-Shelter supplies French and overseas markets with a wide range of quality products and services, acting as prime contractor on a number of major projects. In May 1999, Giat Industries of France and Hunting Engineering Limited of the UK signed an industrial partnership agreement designed to perpetuate and broaden the Rennes-based shelter business, formerly wholly owned by Giat Industries. Communication shelters Euro-Shelter's experience in hostile operational environments (climatic, electromagnetic, nuclear, bacteriological and chemical) has led to development of high-performance shelters with all associated utilities. The numerous and comprehensive testing and certification programmes applied to company products allows a guarantee of faultless performance regarding protection, mobility and hardening (direct C160-130 air transport, EMC attenuation, NBC, fire and ballistics) by adapting technological know-how to specific needs. Euro-Shelter's mobile tactical shelters (MTS) provide highly mobile, environmentally protected work spaces that allow command staffs, signallers and other specialists to commence operations immediately on deployment. Tactical shelters are used for headquarters and command posts; communication centres; radar stations; IT and printing centres; NBC detection vehicles and specialist workshops. Depending on construction, tactical shelters can shield internal electronic equipment from external interference while preventing the escape of unwanted electro-magnetic radiation that can be intercepted by an enemy. They can protect occupants from NBC attack and other hostile environments. Tactical shelters are designed to travel cross-country on a range of vehicles and be dismountable, operating autonomously on the ground. Expandable shelters To minimise transport volume but maximise working area, Euro-Shelter has developed a range of expandable shelters. These include rigid systems and the patented air-plan system (APS). This consists of a rigid fold-down floor with a double-skinned fabric wall system that when inflated by an automatic onboard system, provides a rigid, air-tight wall and roof. Modularity, extendibility and a range of connecting accessories give Euro-Shelter tactical shelter systems the flexibility to provide very large volumes of protected space configured into different arrangements of space. This greatly enlarges the number and variety of applications to which the shelters can be put. Depending on customer requirements, shelters can be provided bare or with basic fittings and utilities such as electrical power generators and distribution systems and air conditioning. Fully equipped shelters also can be designed, manufactured and fitted out for specific requirements. Mobile health systems Euro-Shelter is a leader in mobile health systems such as hospitals and clinics as well as specialised health vehicles. For urgent public-health operations, disasters or armed conflicts, mobile health systems ensure a quick, frontline response to the medical demand wherever the health infra-structure is non-existent or insufficient. Mobile, modular and autonomous Euro-Shelter hospitals can operate within two hours of their arrival in the theatre of operations. Utilising a high-tech system integrated in modular containers, the mobile hospital enables medical and surgical teams to operate, resuscitate and provide intensive care to the same medical standards as an infrastructure hospital. Use of international ISO 20ft containers assure compatibility with all road, rail, sea and air transport. The modularity concept permits the size and functions of the hospital to be adapted to the specific requirements of each operational deployment. Extending covered gangways at the ends of each module permit easy movement of personnel between all the medical and surgical modules and tented wards. The utility module provides a 24-hour supply of power, gas and fluids without replenishment. Mobile clinics, with their high mobility, bring co-ordinated care to the most isolated populations. The mobile clinic module is the basic unit of a medical system that can be assembled to form a well-organised, autonomous medical complex configured to provide the required specialised medical functions. Mobile logistical systems The expertise of mobile shelter technology, combined with the company's system integration capability and its constant development, allow Euro-Shelter to offer comprehensive logistical support systems, complete with utilities and built-in energy management facilities (power, gas, fluids), mobile canteens, bakeries, laundries, accommodation units, sanitation facilities, waste water treatment and refuse processing. Euro-Shelter offers a complete range of logistic shelters designed for either discrete, autonomous operation or as part of an integrated expeditionary camp infrastructure. Bare shelters or complete systems can be provided. All Euro-Shelter logistic shelters are designed for rapid deployment to the theatre of operations. Shelters intended primarily for road, rail and sea transport are fully ISO compliant and strongly constructed in steel. Those intended for use by light forces are built with alloy frames and are air-portable in C130/C160 or underslung from a Chinook helicopter. Shelters can be fitted for handling by DROP/Ampliroll vehicles or forklifts. High-value assemblies Logistic shelters can be provided in expandable form with folding wall panels or APS. Containers for long-term storage of spare high-value assemblies such as tanks or engines, are pressurised with inert gas and the protective environment maintained by automatic control equipment. These containers provide safe transport packaging and also guarantee immediate availability of the assemblies even after long periods of storage in hot, humid or dusty conditions. Euro-Shelter manufactures the foldable Eurokabin? for accommodation and offices. This lightweight product can be erected rapidly by four people without a crane or specialised tools and provides a high level of comfort. Cabins are easily dismantled and relocated to remote sites. Euro-Shelter's mobile logistic shelters
(MLS) provide rapidly deployable, environmentally protected enclosures
for equipment and personnel. Shelters can be easily transported and
handled and brought into operation quickly with minimal on-site work
. Logistic shelters can be used for:
