The first Eurosatory of the century takes place from
19-23 June 2000. It promises to be the premier
exhibition for the international defence industry

Eurosatory 2000

The year 2000 Eurosatory – the most important international exhibition for advanced technologies and land defence businesses – again stands out as the essential meeting place for all players in the defence market.

Open to all companies directly or indirectly involved in the land and land-air defence sector, Eurosatory provides a comprehensive, up-to-date overview of defence hardware and equipment that will be required in traditional land and land-air missions for armed forces as well as for their newly emphasised role in peacekeeping and humanitarian operations.

Eurosatory 2000 is the ideal occasion for meeting and forging relationships with major political, military and industrial decision-makers, and will yet again mirror the profound changes taking place on an international defence scene that is notable for a tendency towards restructuring and industrial Europeanisation.

The purpose of Eurosatory, the professional exhibition for the defence industry and its businesses, is to give an added dynamic to business exchanges and to promote industrial capabilities throughout the defence field.

With this in mind, Eurosatory has further enhanced its Eurosat’Contacts concept and includes an international business convention (Eurosat’Convention) as well as a subcontracting and diversification village (Eurosat’Village). The village is an integral part of the exhibition, giving exhibiting defence-sector manufacturers the opportunity to display their precise know-how and capabilities as subcontractors to professional visitors from other business sectors interested in procuring innovative technologies.

Just as in 1998, Eurosat’Convention will be of great help to large companies searching internationally for partner companies (SMEs) to meet precise co-operation needs such as procurement of simple or complex components, purchases of finished products for large-scale marketing, transfers of technology and distribution agreements. Moreover it is a unique opportunity for SMEs to make direct contacts with large companies.

By granting entry to manufacturers not in the defence sector, Eurosat’Convention enables the companies taking part to identify opportunities for business diversification and integration.

The marketing of the current exhibition suggests that the number of exhibitors will be significantly increased in comparison with the 1998 figure, when 734 companies exhibited their products over an area of 140,000m2.

Eurosatory is under the patronage of the French Ministry of Defence, presided over by GICAT (the French land defence manufacturers’ association), and is organised by COGES, its subsidiary. ©
