Small calibre makes a big hit
POZIS

announces a new

generation of

ammunition for small

calibre automatic

cannons and grenade

launchers.

Production Association Zavod Imeni Sergo (POZIS) has one hundred years of experience in the production of ammunition. Since World War II the company's plant has specialised in the production of small-calibre rounds and has become a leader both at home and abroad in terms of total production as well as in the range of products it manufactures. Most of the 23mm to 30mm rounds for small-calibre cannons made in the Russian Federation, are produced at the POZIS plant.
Cartridges for aircraft and naval guns made in the plant were delivered to Russian armed forces as well as to the armed forces of European, Asian, African and American countries that are equipped with Soviet aircraft, helicopters, anti-aircraft guns, BMP and naval anti-aircraft complexes.
Since the 1950s the company's leading specialists have been acting as consultants on all the continents and in all the countries previously mentioned on matters involving licences for production.

At present approximately 10 European and Asian countries are producing some form of 23mm cartridges and at any one time between one and three countries are able to produce 30mm cartridges on POZIS licences that date back to between the 1950s and the 1970s. However since the 1950s the company has modernised all the 23mm to 30mm cartridges and the processes of production.
Following the introduction of innovations in engineering and design and the creation of new materials and parts, and because of the excellent work of the coating departments and many other specialists, many munitions have survived over several generations.
The latest generation of ammunition has the great advantage of much improved technical data over those produced between the 1950s and the 1970s. This means that the 1.5 can match the high performance of modern aircraft and naval guns because of the new generation of 23mm to 30mm cartridges that can fire an equal quantity of rounds.
New generations of ammunition have high-level characteristics including high-explosive incendiary and armour penetration of targets in compliance with the 10,000 pcs per minute velocity. This makes it possible to use them in all types of aircraft including the MiG-21, MiG 31, Su-37; in helicopters including the MI-17, MI-28, KASO, BTR-80A, Tunguska, BMP-2 and BMP-3, and many kinds of naval gun. A wide range of possible usages such as anti-aircraft up to 3,000m and anti-armoured ammunition at low prices make it possible to promote the company's products to new markets in Asia, the near east, Africa and southern and northern America. POZIS now exports ammunition to more than 40 countries around the world.
All this expertise forms only a part of the wide range of POZIS' military products. Different types of ejection-seat cartridges used in all kinds of aircraft and helicopters in Russia are produced in the company's plant.

POZIS also produces 40mm fragment grenades, VOG-25 and VOG-25P for the launch gun GP-25, and ammunition for the world-famous Kalashnikovs. Other production includes training ammunition for 23 mm to 30mm and 40mm aircraft systems and ejection-seat cartridges for all generations of Russian planes.
All types of product are thoroughly tested at the company's plant. On customers' advice Pozis will produce 23mm to 30mm rounds belted and hermetically packed. This provides for the delivery of ready-to-use ammunition of HF1, FT rounds.
A hundred years of experience and a tradition of manufacturing small rounds has enabled POZIS to retain its proud position as a true market leader.
